I am a career professional who is *well practiced* at operating tired, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every OTC and prescription drug for insomnia has been tried. They all work for a few days until either my brain or body gets used to it. I’d taken to drinking a couple glasses of wine 3-5 times weekly to help me fall asleep. And *none* of these remedies work for mid-insomnia because I can’t take a pill or drink wine at 2am and trust I would wake up at 6am to start my day. So on those nights, the tossing, turning, irritation, and mindless thinking was endless. This has been going on for 15-20 years.
David Mayen and SleepRecovery.net is a literal life saver. I just finished session #6 and here are the changes in me so far:
* No more insomnia – I can enjoy eight hours of rested sleep.
* No more mid-insomnia – if I wake for any reason in the middle of the night, I fall back to sleep with ease.
* I dream – I couldn’t remember the last time I ‘recall’ dreaming, which aids in having restful sleep.
* Wake up rested (vs tired) – my head feels attached to my body; and my body/feet feel attached to the ground. (I didn’t remember what this felt like!) I no longer operate in a ‘disconnected’ state.
* Less stressed – I am just as busy as I have always been. My daily schedule/adventures have not changed. Yet, I have the energy and mental focus to get through it without feeling stress, anxiety, worry, etc.

*BONUS: More self-discipline – no more stress eating and looking to snack on something every two hours. No more carb cravings. Now that I no longer feel stressed or exhausted 24/7, I have the energy to cook, meal plan, etc. and look forward to getting healthier.
* BONUS: Losing my anxiousness about bedtime – Unknowingly, I had developed a bad habit of keeping myself busy until midnight because going to bed when I was tired at 9:30pm never meant I would fall asleep. Well I do now, usually within 15-30 minutes. So I’m recognizing my bad habits, going to bed at a normal time, getting eight hours of peaceful sleep, and waking up rested and ready to take on the world!
