First and foremost, my wife Mia & I are parents. In our busy lives, we perform our usual tasks and duties to keep our life (relatively) comfortable. But always in the background there’s the quite voice that’s asking, ‘how are the kids doing?’

As they say, we never really stop being parents.

Now imagine a close friend, a sibling, or a neighbor telling you in a panic that their son or daughter hasn’t slept for 3 nights straight, or is having anxiety attacks so terrible they can’t make it to school that day.

This is happening to our beloved youth all across the country. As parents or guardians we only know of one thing to do; take them to the doctor.

In 8 years of medical school, general practice doctors only receive 3 hours of education on the subject of sleep. Why is this? Put simply, its the party-line is that its the sleep medicine specialists’ job to tackle sleep issues in adults and teens. But the problem goes deeper. Sleep medicine doctors mostly treat for obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, not specifically insomnia per se.

I’m certain, at this point, you probably know where this is going.

This leaves only one option for desperate parents to try to put out this family fire; medications and if that doesn’t work, more medications.

So, parents have to begin thinking outside of the pill box. When I started Sleep Recovery in 2008, I took a different path: That path was to see if state-of-the-art brainwave training could sustain improvements in both sleep quantity and quality in the long term. Slowly, methodically peoples’ sleep and lives started to improve.

Now, fast forward to today. We have been in practice for over 15 years. People and parents with their children from across the country have been utilizing our method, and are provided with a sense of empathy, dignity, care and results they deserve.

As they say: it takes a village! We are not interested in being on Oprah, Dr. Phil or on national news ads. We are simply encouraging the parents, teens and college students we help, to talk to their fellow students and other parents with similar issues and let them decide if our unique method would be a better choice for them as well.

Yours in Restful Sleep,
